Do electric showers need a dedicated circuit?
Yes. They draw a high load and must have their own circuit with the right cable size and protection.
Can I replace an electric shower myself?
We don't recommend it. Even like-for-like replacements need safe isolation, testing and compliance with the wiring regulations.
Will my fuse box need upgrading?
Possibly. If your consumer unit has no RCD protection or can't take the load, an upgrade may be needed. We confirm this before any work starts.
How long does it take?
A straightforward replacement usually takes two to three hours. A new circuit or consumer unit upgrade takes longer.
